The marching band battery, or drumline, consists of snare drums, bass drums, tenor drums, and cymbals. It provides the rhythmic foundation, maintains tempo, and enhances musicality through synchronized rhythms and patterns.

The front ensemble, or "pit," is the stationary section of a marching band that includes keyboard percussion, auxiliary percussion, and electronic instruments. Positioned at the front of the field, it adds melodic and harmonic depth, complementing the battery and overall performance.
